Picocon 29- Imperial College's one-day SF convention - Travel arrangements for THIS SATURDAY
Hey all,
So Picocon is this Saturday at Imperial College in South Kensington. As I
have said for the last few weeks, we are going to go and have lots and lots
of fun. Tickets will be subsidised by the society, so you will only be
paying £1 for about 10 hours of super-SF fun. (It's also a fun opportunity
to nose around a university that thinks it's better than us. Something to
do with league tables, or something. Pah.) The authors taking part are Adrian
Czajkowski, Justina Robson and Tricia Sullivan, and there will also be
turkey readings, the destruction of dodgy merchandise and, of course, no
fish-dueling whatsoever. Take a look at the timetable and other information
here: http://www.union.ic.ac.uk/scc/icsf/social/events/picocon/
Those of you in the dismal locality generally defined as Egham/Englefield
Green who want to come along will be delighted to hear that we're going
together en masse from Egham station. We'll be meeting at Egham station on
the London platform at 8:45, to get the 8:53 train to Richmond, from where
we will get the tube to South Ken. Doors open at 10 before the first event
at 10:30, so we'll have enough time to get there.
If you were thinking of going but haven't made your minds up yet, could you
please confirm on the event on our website
www.ifis.org.uk/events/20120218-Picocon.shtml by Saturday, so the
committee knows how much money to bring along to pay for tickets. Kthnx.
Anyway, see you on Saturday!
