Thor, Tuesday 9th January, 7pm ALT 2
Happy New Year everyone!
We may only have twelve months left until the Roland Emmerich sanctioned
apocalypse, but until that time, we at IFIS are going to provide you with
the finest* SF stuff ever made. So to get the year off to a bang (the first
of many, Mayan fans!) we're watching Thor, the superhero movie directed by
celebrated Shakespearian thesp Kenneth Branagh. As far as I'm aware, this
is his first comic-book adaptation. Anyway, Thor (played by him off Home
and Away) is the disgraced heir to the fantastic realm of Asgard, who gets
exiled to Earth and has to stop the evil Frost Giants taking over the
universe. Just like Hamlet.
After that, we'll be going to the Stumble Inn, as is customary, and yes,
we'll also be down the Alma Mata near the station on Thursday at 7.
See you tomorrow,
Mohamed
*Note: this is a lie, we will also be showing you lots of terrible,
terrible films. Because your pain is funny and provides us with
life-essence.
