The Rocky Horror Picture Show and IFIS Elections, Tuesday 22nd March, 7pm, ALT 2
(This email is brought to you by our Rocky Horror supremo, Emma.)
This week's IFIS will start off with ELECTIONS! Anybody who is thinking of
running for anything get prepared now - you will have to give a speech of
some kind telling us all why you are committee worthy material, and suffer
questions from the current committee and other members after.
The positions available are:
President
Secretary
Treasurer
Librarian
As many of you as possible should turn up as we need a minimum number of
people there for the elections to take place. There will also be an end of
term party of some sort at Flick's house!
This week at IFIS will be the (annual?) showing of the Rocky Horror Picture
Show! A sexually deviant classic movie that pays homage to every sci-fi
B-movie you've ever seen. Dressing up is compulsory - if nothing else, you
can get away with wearing a suit, or fishnets under your clothes (under the
circumstances, formal dress is optional).
Are you a virgin?
For those of you that don't know about the film, I won't spoil the surprise,
but a number of props can be used for audience participation if anyone feels
like it, listed below (I'm sure the SU will frown heavily on the first 4, so
it's probably best to concentrate on the other 5):
1. Rice, to be thrown during the two wedding scenes.
2. Water pistols, to simulate the rain of the storm.
3. Confetti, may also be used during the wedding scenes.
4. Toast, thrown during the dinner scene.
5. Rubber gloves, to be snapped in time with frank 'n' furter during the
creation scene.
6. Torch, used during the song 'there's a light'. Lighters are banned for
safety reasons. Glowsticks are cool.
7. Party Poppers, Hat, Blower. used during the Dinner/Happy Birthday scene
in the play.
8. Newspaper, worn over the head during the rain scene.
9. Playing cards, thrown during the line 'cards for sorrow, cards for
pain'
Let's do the time warp again!
