Picocon travel plans

The time is fast approaching for our trip in to London for Picocon and it
seems that the gods of public transport (TfL) have decided to make things a
little bit interesting for us this year. Mainly by deciding to do "planned
engineering works" on the stretch of tube line that we need to use.

The journey planning is suggesting we hoof it up to Clapham Junction and get
a bus. Or we could go via Victoria to South Ken? Personally I loath buses,
so I'd prefer the latter plan.

Fools! But yay, Jaine Fenn.

I would also prefer to avoid anything that involves buses; so any
other option sounds good to me.

The bus from Clapham to South Ken is pretty straightforward, but not really
any quicker than going Egham ---train--> Clapham ---train--> Victoria
---tube--> South Ken. That route only takes about 10 minutes longer than
going via Richmond, provided the Circle/District lines are playing nice
between Victoria & South Ken.

When I worked at South Ken that was my first choice of backup for whenever
Richmond fell off the tube network, anyway.
