Tron, Tuesday 30th November, 7pm, ALT 1. And Christmas Dinner! - Thursday 2nd December, 7:30pm, The Al Ma Ma Ta Pub
Hello, you lovely, lovely people,
Three big bits of news for you guys. We'll start with next week's film,
which is the epic techno-adventure movie Tron.
Tron blew people's minds with its state of the art computer graphics on its
release in 1982, and with the long awaited sequel, Tron: Legacy, coming out
next month, now's the ideal time to show it. Jeff Bridges stars as the
unwitting computer programmer who is downloaded into the mainframe of a
computer, from which he must battle to escape.
We'll be meeting in the Arts Building lobby, as usual, just before 7pm.
Our second order of business is the exciting annual extravaganza that is the
IFIS Christmas Dinner! You'll have received an e-mail a few days ago, but
just to reiterate, the dinner is taking place at the Al Ma Ma Ta pub next
Thursday, the 2nd of December, at 7:30pm. The three-course dinner is
subsidised by the society, and will cost a festive £12.
It's very, *VERY* important that if you wish to come you get your menu
choices to the committee by Sunday. We have a poll on the website, listing
the available menu choices here
www.ifis.org.uk/social/polls/xmas2010.shtml However, if for some
reason you can't access the website, then please e-mail the committee at
committee@ and we will send you the Menu choices.
It would also be helpful if you could RSVP on the website as well -

We'll be collecting payment for the dinner on Tuesday when we're watching
Tron, but if you can't make it to the film, it will be possible to pay on
Thursday.
At the risk of overwhelming you all, we are also planning a trip to the IMAX
on the South Bank to watch the sequel, Tron: Legacy at some point in the new
year. We have a poll on the website to see which dates would be easiest for
our members to get to:

Thanks very much, and see you on Tuesday, and/or Thursday!
