WALL-E, Tuesday 16th March 2010, 7pm, ALT 2.
Hello all,
Tomorrow we're watching WALL-E, the Disney-Pixar animated tale of a lonely
robot cleaning up an abandoned planet. However, I don't want to supersede
our president's brillliant synopsis, which I shall reproduce here.
*"There is some sort of robot, a bit like a cross between pussycat from
robot wars (anyone else remember those guys?) and a crab. He/She/It lives in
a dump a la stig and spends his/her/its time compacting rubbish into little
cubes because you've got to do something to pass the time I guess. Then
stuff happens. I assume he/she/it meets someone. Probably another robot.
Maybe an alien."*
So there you have it, ladies, gentlemen and small furry creatures from Alpha
Centauri.
Afterwards, we go to the Stumble, yes. But don't forget we meet at the
Al-Ma-Ma-Ta near Egham Station on Thursday evenings as well - you might want
to turn up this week, it'd be a nice piece of propaganda if you intend to
run for a position on next year's society....
Speaking of which, elections will be a week tomorrow, so that's Tuesday 23rd
March! We need a President, Secretary (ahem), Treasurer and Librarian!
Descriptions of duties and responsibilities can be found on this event on
the website - www.ifis.org.uk/events/20100323-commitee%20erections.shtml -
but also bear in mind, it's a lot of fun. If you want any information about
what it's like to be on the committee, grab one of us and we will reveal the
ancient secrets.
See you tomorrow,
Mohamed
(IFIS Secretary 2009-2010)
