OK so Mohamed wasn't able to do an event in time so we will be
ceremoniously feeding him to the pit of sarlacc on Tuesday. Also on
Tuesday, we will be showing Blade Runner. It's Ridley Scott, it was
nominated for 2 Oscars and is a classic. I personally have not seen it
so don't really know what to say here as I don't want to do too much
research as this would reveal potential spoilers. Therefore I am just
being lazy and copying you the IMDb synopsis.
Here it is:
In a cyberpunk vision of the future, man has developed the technology
to create replicants, human clones used to serve in the colonies
outside Earth but with fixed lifespans. In Los Angeles, 2019, Deckard
is a Blade Runner, a cop who specialises in terminating replicants.
Originally in retirement, he is forced to re-enter the force when six
replicants escape from an offworld colony to Earth.
NB We are not in ALT1 this week, we will be in the Munro Fox Lecture
Theatre. This is not the same one as we were in 2 weeks ago either,
that was the seminar room. The lecture theatre is another portakabin
but is higher up the stairs. If you are facing the double doors to the
entrance of Bourne, then you walk down a single flight of stairs on
the left hand side of the building and it is the first shed on your
left :D
Also we have now decided we shall be going to Stumble afterwards as
Crosslands now apparently hate us :( but on the other hand, ale is
1.50 a pint :D just remember to bring your NUS/life membership thing
or you can't get in.
See you tomorrow :)
