I've got a set of the Buster Crabbe (correct spelling) Flash Gordon's on DVD - loved
them ever since there was a repeat of them on BBC2 in the early 80s. Sadly the DVD
versions stink - poorly centered, cut off at one side, very little clean up at all.
Buster Crabbe was also the original movie series Buck Rogers, and has an appearance
] Suggestions for the first film of term...
At the risk of sounding an old fogey....
The golden age of cinema in the 50s used Saturday morning serials to get
youngsters in week after week. Larry "Buster" Crab as Flash Gordon, for
example. How about showing something that comes in episodes over a period of
a few weeks as a way of getting new members into the habit?
My first thought was the British TV series "Ultraviolet". Other crowd
pleasers might be things like The 4400, new Battlestar...
I shall refrain from interfering further....

IFIS] Suggestions for the first film of term...
Hi
After have some thought about it all I am at a loss. I have thought of lots
of things that will be cool to show throughout the rest of the year..
What I think the decision needs to be based on is if we can get our hands on
any new/ imported movie. As something like that will really draw the
punters.
The second question we need to ask is what movie ( if we cannot get
shinneyness) will put the most bums on seats.
We need to be unscrupulous and Evil. The people who will Join
ifis at the
stall and or come to the first movie will do whatever the movie is showing.
( the more hardcore sifi fans)...

( ps:- done far to early in the morning with a hangover ideas may yet still
arrive in my head)
