Before Doctor Who exploded into unfathomable popularity in 2005, it began as a small-scale show in 1963. The classic episodes of Doctor Who are full of gems and interesting backstory to the Time Lord that we know and love, so come along and delve into the past!

Music has always played an important role in Science Fiction/Fantasy, but giving you the option to sing along as well makes it even better! Help us choose a musical within our society's genre for us to watch!

This happens every year on the 25th of May as a tribute to the late Douglas Adams. As a reference to the awesome Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, fans carry with them a towel in his honour. Do you know where your towel is?

Don't Panic! We're celebrating Towel Day (a day earlier but...yeah), inspired by the reference in his most popular work: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. We're planning to honour Douglas Adams' fantastic novel by watching an adaption (in some shape or form, TBC), but the important thing is to bring a towel! Whoever brings a towel gets a little reward for their effort!

Before he did The Incredibles, Brad Bird gave us an underrated gem in 1999 with his directorial debut: The Iron Giant. Based on Ted Hughes' 'The Iron Man' and set in a 50s America, the film follows Hogarth Hughes who discovers a gigantic robot (voiced by Vin Diesel). As he begins to bond with this mysterious creation, he must also find a way to hide him from a paranoid government investigator.

It's another cinema trip! It's Deadpool 2! Come and experience Deadpool continue to kick ass as he takes on Cable whilst forming the new superhero team X-Force within the X-Men universe!Times TBC

We're gonna go back in time to 1968 and witness one of the most influential science fiction/fantasy films of all time! Directed by Stanley Kubrick who wrote the screenplay with Arthur C. Clarke, 2001 depicts mankind's venture into the unknown brought by the appearance of mysterious monoliths throughout time and space. Filled with breathtaking models and a great selection of classical music, this is an escape into the movie history!Note that due to the long runtime of the film (2-1/2 hours) we would like to start fairly promptly so make sure you've arrived by 7PM.(Further note, we will be watching this of the 50th anniversary of the UK premier of the film).

The first Saturday after Star Wars day is Free Comic Book Day! We're planning to take a trip to the Forbidden Planet store in London to pick up our free comic books! (and whatever else we may want to buy). We may also have a little peak around the other shops that are also offering free stuff, so come along and happy hunting!

Star Wars day is every year on the 4th of May. It is derived from a pun on the Jedi phrase "May the force be with you", namely "May the Fourth be with you".

Porgs! Porgs!! PORGS!!! We're gonna officially kick off Term 3 to a flying start with the latest installment in the Skywalker Saga: Star Wars Episode VIII - The Last Jedi! Join Rey, Finn, Poe and BB-8 as they continue to evade the evil First Order led by Kylo Ren whilst teaming up with legends such as Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia! Come along and join us, and may the force be with you.

Welcome back to Term 3! We know that Exam Season is upon us (insert 'Imperial March' here); but if you'd like a nice quiet drink and chat about the Easter holidays, as well as anything science fiction/fantasy related, then come along to our pub social for a catch-up and break from revision.
