An event hosted by IFIS, RHUL Science Fiction and Fantasy society.
This is a very important event of the year for the society. The AGM is where we elect the new committee for the coming year. It's vitally important everyone turns up as it has to be quorate to go ahead and if it doesn't happen, the society could be shut down. Full details of the rules that govern this process can be found in the constitution.
To stand for a position you need to make a short speech (no more than a couple of minutes) and then answer a few questions from the other members. The positions available are President, Secretary, Treasurer and optionally a Librarian.
Afterwards, we'll be showing (as is now traditional for AGMs) The Rocky Horror Picture Show. For those of you as yet untarnished by the knowledge of what this is, it's simply a film about a couple of teenage kids breaking down in the dark of the night and seeking solace at a nearby mansion. There may also be singing, dancing and dressing up...and that's just the audience if they feel like it.
Note: for the squeamish amongst you, this is not a horror movie but there are elements some viewers may find disturbing.
