Serenity is a Joss Whedon film based on his much loved TV show Firefly. It's about the crew of the spaceship Serenity, a bunch of renegades and outlaws, who are just trying to earn a living and stay one step ahead of the law. But they find themselves being relentlessly pursued by the authorities when they take on board a young girl and her brother as passengers, as they will do anything to get her, and the secrets she contains, back.
You do not have to have watched the show to enjoy this - it works very well as a standalone movie.
Afterwards there will be a social at a local venue, possibly Medicine, where we can all gather together and chat and get to know everyone.
