Yes, it's that time of year once again. The temperature's dropping, everything's covered in tinsel and twinkling like a Twilight vampire and we're preparing to ritually gorge on a bland, tasteless bird. It's Christmas, and so out last IFIS film night of the term will be celebrating the festive season with an SF twist.
First, we're showing Tim Burton's seminal musical The Nightmare Before Christmas, which features the ghoulish citizens of Halloween Town stumbling upon the wonderful and alluring Christmas Town, and deciding to take control of the festive season themselves.
Afterwards, we're watching two festive episodes of Futurama, 'Xmas Story' and 'A Tale of Two Santas'. All together now - "Santa Claus is gunning you down!"
