For the moment, both IFIS lists have been turned into MODERATED lists.
This means that NOBODY can post direct to the list. If you try, your
posts go to me first, and then AFTER MY APPROVAL, get sent to everyone
else on the list.
Yes, this means that if someone has something important to say, they'll
have to wait for me to read my email before anyone else can get it. It's
basically a deliberate time-delay whilst I check that the mail is
genuine IFIS mail.
Isn't it pathetic when one childish person ruins a useful service for so
many others?
Once I've found out who did it, I'll get their internet access
withdrawn. I'll then re-open the IFIS lists. Unless the offender manages
to give me a good reason why I souldn't do so, I'll probably announce
their name to the rest of the IFIS membership, but I won't be held
responsible for the violent behavior of anyone who was annoyed at having
their mailbox spammed.
I know people who have been chucked out of uni for less. I hope you're
happy. You didn't want a degree, did you?
