The Princess Bride is due out on Region 1 DVD on 18th July. No special
features, but it'll probably be better than your ageing VHS copies stacked
at home :o)

You can get it for 15.14 dollars (about a tenner) delivered at
http://www.DVDboxoffice.com.
Or 13.99 pounds delivered at http://www.play247.com for all those without
Visa cards, and only have switch cards.

Details are conflicting from several sites, but it looks like it'll be both
Full screen and Widescreen Anamorphic picture format, Mono Soundtrack :o(

I can hear those Credit cards groaning as I speak...

Oh it's well known I can't stand the film :o) Just thought I might point
it out and watch the DVD order sites get overloaded with IFIS members
spending their cash ;o)

Not quite 12.95, there's 3.95 shipping to add on. Ok, I'm being pedantic
over two dollars here, but hey ;o)

Customs will probably get hold of that x files box set unfortunately, and
charge about 20 quid duty on top, the thieving b**tards!!!!!!!!!!!!

Customs charges seem to be entirely random. I've been hammered only twice
so it's not a huge amount overall when you consider how much (both quantity
and cost) I get sent. If my Godzilla DVDs get got now I'll curse myself
for opening my big mouth.

BTW The Entertainer's online SW sale is up and running. Now that's what
you'll really need the plastic for !

Some e-commerce sites let you add a "greeting" message of your choice. If
you say something like "Happy Birthday!!!", then they're FAR FAR less likely
to charge you - they're not supposed to charge for gifts, and it would be a

... and they're not going to keep track of everyone's birthdays, are they?
And even if they did, it can't possibly be illegal to put that on a parcel -
you could be redistributing them to multiple friends yourself, after all.

They didn't with the Season 1 box set. These guys are quite good because
when the package arrives it's got a UK senders address on it. Don't ask me
how it works, but I've ordered several hundred dollars worth of stuff and
never had to pay a dime! (Being billed in American dollars and all)
