which blade runner? the original or directors cut? probably the topic for a
thread which has run far too often perhaps)
4- Alien (hmmmmmm I rate Alien and Aliens pretty much equal)
5 - Star Wars phantom menace - (nahhhhhhhhhh it's nowhere near as good as
The Matrix or Aliens or Terminator 2 or 2001 etc

15 - Aliens
16 - The Matrix
27 - 2001 : A space odyssey
29 - Return of the Jedi
32 - Terminator 2


hmmmmmmmmmmmmm I'd have ranked these films above Phantom menace, but that's

There is no way that this film should be considered the best of all time
ever. It is not even the best SF film of all time (step forward 2001). I'm a
fan of Star Wars, but not to the extent that I can't see it's faults.

Probably only reached this position because Jonathon Ross was plugging it
heavily when the voting was open. Very good film though, and a great example
of how SF films could be if thought through properly.
Personally I think Alien towers over Aliens as a film. To me it is a horror
film that just happens to be set in space. The atmosphere and tension build
up to such an extent that you feel involved in Ripley's plight. Aliens
doesn't do that.
A travesty. The worst of the SW films, and only here because it came out
this year.
What? No Terminator? No Dark City? No Forbidden Planet? What about Planet of
the Apes? Dr Strangelove? Twelve Monkeys? Species 2? (only joking...)

Where's ESB in that list ? Easily the best of the 4 SW films.

V High Sci Fi proportion in the top ten - the poll wasn't open to Internet
voting par chance ?

Where did the likes of Citizen Caine, Italian Job, 4 Weddings etc come ? (3
films - I'm not comparing them in the same breath ! Not even seen Citizen
Caine - gonna tape it over Christmas !)
