Just to let you know that the IFIS pub crawl is this week. Anyone

wanting

to go on this bender around Englefield Green should meet at the North

Tower

@ 7pm. (on thursday)

Any chance of finding out what the proposed route is? Nothing short of a
miracle is going to let me get on campus by 7, so I'll probably be better
off heading towards the 1st pub or 2nd pub.

What's the word on the drinking establishment formerly known as the Ascot ?
Can we get in yet, have they got food and are we going to end up there ?

I'm intending to come down Thursday and am willing to lead a party to
secure our usual
residence for us while everyone else tours the pubs of the area....

Obviously I'd be a liability in more ways than one on a Pub Crawl so best I
stay and hold the fort.....

Well it's yet to be confirmed, but I suspect that if they _name_
it "The Monkeys Forehead" it will actually be _called_
"The Monkey's Foreskin".

Urg. Over-priced drinks and poncy food? I guess the drama lot will be
happy then *8).

I doubt there will be a problem whatever it is like. Either it'll be really
crap - no-one will go to it and it'll go bust. Or it'll be just about OK
and we can corrupt it to our own image like we did the Ascot. I can't
imagine that there is this sudden yuppie market to pander for that didn't
exist a month ago.

yes, and its going to be a cafe bar.

Has anybody got any actual evidence of this? I'm asking because they've been
turning down planning permission for cafe bars in egham recently, and the
ascot's not exactly a good location for one since they tend to rely heavily
on "drop in" trade...

it has a huge sign saying it will be a cafe bar. Also, its being done up
alot so it starting to look really trendy.
