WESTMINSTER REPORT
Just back from Westminster....
Gone with a shopping list - DS Droid, Leia MMC, Ewok CG, Luke Wampa and
Scanning Crew Falcon.
Was at the doors at 10:20 - slight mistiming there ! Sat talking to the
girl from Offworld, then Richard & Matt from my University showed up closely
followed by Hemal who was delighted with the Snoova and Luke Coruscant Guard
I'd found him. The Magus, Izzy & Ali from the Royal Holloway Sci Fi soc
showed up at 5 to and I made them go to the back of the line.
Doors opened at 11. The hall isn't anywhere near as full as it usually is.
I got the Luke Wampa immediately from the Toy Heroes guy. 25 quid. Then
saw it for 22 a moment later (ouch) A once round the building revealed
nothing else I was after....
Then I espied a stall in the corner which had the classic 8 for varying
prices between 10 and 14ish. But they had a complete set for 90 :-)
Already opened the Luke, Darth and Ben and they are all fabby. Luke can
clip his macro binoculars to his waist, the hat comes off and the wrists
rotate (YO HASBRO ! _IF_ you redo the Tusken raider give it arms and wrists
similar to this new Luke)
At about that point Chris & Big Dave joined us. Chris moaned about the
weather and the fact I'd forgotten to tell him that there was an entry fee !
Matt was as usually scorning us, Rich had bought a large pile of TFs -
Headmaster 3 pack, Shadow Panther & Japanese Tigatron. Ally wanted a
lightsabre for her 6 year old sister - I said I could get one for 10 ! Izzy
and Ally were looking for a Boba Fett prism card for Charlotte who was Ill -
they found it ! and the Magus was somewhere in the Myth and Magic section.
Boxed Mace's - 20 - in abundance ! Staps - 25. UK SOTE - saw all - none
cheaper than 15 - Hemal you got a bargain ! No DS Troopers, Ree Yees,
Spacetroopers, Darktroopers or DS Droids to be seen !
We declared just after Midday and adjourned to various luncheon
destinations....
.... from where I proceeded to Kingston. Disaster ! Toy Stack had sold out
of 9.99 Lightsabres.... I was about to give up and was in the process of
composing my "Dear Ali no Lightsabres - fraid your younger sister is going
to be disappointed..." email when I spotted 1 sitting in their window.
Apologies to the Toystack staff for making the assistant destroy the display
!
All in all a good day thus far ! Disapointed about the DS Droid, the Leia
and the Ewok but hey ho....
