Sounds good but our last 2 weeks are booked and if I don't make the
union pay for it I will never go and see contact. Wouldn't mind
borrowing the tapes if you've got them though.

Could you explain the the word "detentions" - don't you mean
dimensions.
And no I don't think that is the episode you are thinking of.
Deep space Homer is the one when he goes into space, and one thing that
I can remember about the episode is when Homer tries to eat in
zero-gravity (I think it was a packet of crisps). He floats around
munching food that goes past, however he knocks into an ant farm - then
there is food and ants everywhere. Doh!

It was a packet of crisps. You failed to mention what is so hilarious about the scene though.
It is a godlike pastiche of the spacecraft docking scene in 2001, the way it has Homer matching his rotation to that of the crisps as he floats forwards, and of course setting the scene to The Blue Danube.
As for numbers of people, Simpson's is one of Beeb2's highest rated programs. Being basically godlike, we would probably get more people for Simpsons than most Blockbuster movies.

Here's another episode we could watch, if anyone has it... Bart's Comet!
Yeah, I know, it's not that good, but it does have a comet about to hit
the Earth... strangely topical, wouldn't you say?
