Committee Elections
Hi Everyone!
It's that time of year again! Nominations for the committee election open tomorrow so this week we are running our election Hustings. Candidates for next years committee positions will have the opportunity to present their case and take questions - letting you decide who you will be voting for. Each person will be able to make a two minute speech before being asked questions, including one from the incumbent for the post.
This is probably the most important event of the year as it decides who will be running things next year so please come along (even if you only stay for the first half hour).
This will be followed by panel/ silly games - if you are familiar with Just a Minute or I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue, you'll know what we're talking about here. The games are all really easy to get involved in and there will be small prizes for anyone particular impressive.
A quick recap of the committee positions for those who are interested:
President: Runs the society, liaises with the SU... the Overlord.
Secretary: In charge of room bookings and acts as a kind of deputy. Is in charge of emails and membership lists but this is has been shared with the President... the Scribe.
Treasurer: In charge of managing the society money, submitting forms and telling us how much we have to spend... the Master of Coin.
Librarian: Is in charge of our Library, buying/ keeping track of books and acting as a courier. Also keeps an eye on some of our website stuff... the Court Wizard.
