I did say 1930's Nazi's, Hilter came to power in 1933. They got to power though
the use of terror. So you're being a bit picking, I should off said the
Nazi pary between 1922 and 1933. for example I though the burning down of the
Reinstag was a terrorist act...
The Vietcong were trying to impress a sense of terror on the US army and
populace. They were well aware that their hit and run raids were demoralising
the army and the people back home. They also knew they were no match in
a straigth conventional war. The veitcong were not a group of draft
peasants - they knew about the bad press etc. I think I'm agreeing with you
here.
I never said that only terrorist use terror - in fact in my last message
I gave example of armies which relied on terror. I think the difference
here is the use of terror as a means in itself; as opposed to a tool to
aid a war etc. One other aspect of terrorism is the fact that the terrorist
does not seek a direct conflict with the enermy forces.
