Before he did The Incredibles, Brad Bird gave us an underrated gem in 1999 with his directorial debut: The Iron Giant. Based on Ted Hughes' 'The Iron Man' and set in a 50s America, the film follows Hogarth Hughes who discovers a gigantic robot (voiced by Vin Diesel). As he begins to bond with this mysterious creation, he must also find a way to hide him from a paranoid government investigator.
