As with Donnie Darko, I haven't seen this, (I have read the books though).
Here is the take on it from IMDB:
"A hapless young Viking who aspires to hunt dragons, becomes the unlikely friend of a young dragon himself, and learns there may be more to the creatures than he assumed."
Which sounds pretty much like the book but I can assure you that Toothless should not be big enough to ride on... we shall see.
